Armor Healthcare, LLC an infection control company was founded in September of 2007. With combined 40 plus years of experience in the healthcare industry, the Company was able to see what has been missing in the market and resolved to create a venue to fill the void— it was then that Armor was born.
Armor Healthcare focuses its infection control line of products in two key market segments; HEALTHCARE - which includes hospitals, physician and dental offices, EMS and specialty markets served exclusively through distribution, and EDUCATION - facilities which includes pre-kindergarten, K-12, and post secondary education facilities served through specific distribution and directly by the Company.
Both market segments are facing enormous pressures to reduce acquired infections. The hospital based market is seeing accelerated growth of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) despite efforts focused on reduction. The latest statistics point to over 2 million HAI in today’s healthcare settings with nearly 5% resulting in fatality, which translates to 100,000 deaths annually or 240 per day.
The myth that these types of infections are restricted to the hospital market has been largely destroyed with the emergence of Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). A new term has evolved with the rapid spread of these bacteria: Community Acquired Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CAMRSA). National exposure to this already described "social epidemic" was highlighted on the CBS News Program 60 MINUTES and nearly every major news outlet in the United States and abroad.
